What Is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a common condition of the facial skin that is characterized by persistent redness, mainly of the central face, often accompanied by flushing, pimples, small visible blood vessels, and/or irritated eyes.

Some patients can also experience a change in the texture of the skin on their nose or chin.

What to Expect

Numerous topical and oral medications can effectively reduce the pimples associated with rosacea, but the redness and visible blood vessels are often equally distressing and resistant to medication.

A series of treatments with a vascular laser effectively decreases this background redness and flushing, as well as improves the appearance of visible blood vessels.
