What Is Cellulite?
Cellulite is a term for the formation of lumps and dimples in the skin. These lumps and dimples are formed by fibrous septae, which are the tissue bands that connect the skin to the muscle layer beneath.
The adipose layer is located beneath the skin (subcutaneous fat). When these septae are too short, they pull down on the skin and the fat cells between them bulge up.
Cellulite is also referred to as “orange peel” texture and can result from hormonal changes, genetic factors, pregnancy, accumulated toxins in the body, and lifestyle.
