The Medical Aesthetics team is expanding at SkinDC, the premier cosmetic dermatology and facial plastic surgery practice in the Washington DC metropolitan area and the #1 provider of CoolSculpting and CoolTone in Washington, DC and Virginia, and a top 10 provider nationally*.
As a valued member of the clinical team at SkinDC, the Junior Body Contouring Specialist plays a critical role in facilitating a positive patient experience. We provide training by an Allergan Medical Institute Faculty Trainer and a regular, Monday-Friday schedule in a professional office setting.
As a Junior Body Contouring Specialist, you will:
- Help patients achieve their body contouring goals with the use of various nonsurgical procedures.
- Assist patients, nurses, doctors, and other care providers in a medical clinic setting.
- Prepare exam rooms, assist the care provider, and provide patient education.
- Perform administrative tasks ranging from answering phones, scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and handling billing.
We’re Looking for People Who Bring:
- A strong understanding of anatomy and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A high level of professionalism.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a dermatology or plastic surgery practice.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience in a fast paced, multi-task environment.
- At least 1 year of experience working with an Electronic Medical Records system, preferably.
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably.
- Basic Life Support certification, preferably.
- All applicants must be vaccinated.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires regular and periodic standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits include:
- $21-23/hour

Daily tasks will include: greeting patients and showing them to rooms and preparing them for the physician, ensuring that rooms are clean and well-stocked, sterilizing instruments, assisting the physician with patient care (both medical and cosmetic) – handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as setting up surgical trays, administering injections/therapies/topical medications as per practice guidelines, training requirements and state regulations, removing sutures, transcribing into an EHR, providing patient education, following up with patients/pharmacies, accurately and efficiently entering medical data into electronic medical record system, educating and advising patients within established parameters. miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
The Medical Assistant position provides the patient with their initial experience of the clinical department in the practice. Our ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service to patients, guests and vendors at all times. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working with people, can multi-task, has a friendly personality, and is a team-player. Must have excellent English language and grammar, and computer/typing skills as well as maintain a sense of responsibility. Previous medical assistant experience preferred, but not required.

- Knowledge and articulation in discussing products and procedures
- Professional demeanor and attitude
- Natural inclination to take initiative
- Computer savviness

Experience with the following preferred but not required:

Daily tasks will include: assuring registration materials and patient information is complete, verifying and updating information for patients, collecting copays and patient payments, retrieving all messages/voicemails/faxes and processing in a timely manner, collecting payments for skincare products and cosmetic services, assisting with explaining basics of insurance plans such as referrals/copayments/co-insurances/health savings plans to patients, verifying insurance plans for eligibility and need for referrals, sending daily financial report, scanning all mails/faxes/results in a timely manner, providing general office support in regards to faxing/filing/mailing/copying, assuring the front office/waiting area is clean and orderly, handling any non-clinical patient concerns in a positive and constructive manner, answering phone calls/e-mails/online appointment requests made to the office and making appointments, following up with patients/pharmacies, miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
The Receptionist position provides the patient with their initial experience of the practice. Our ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service to patients, guests and vendors at all times. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working with people, can multi-task, has a friendly personality, and is a team-player. Must have excellent English language and grammar, and computer/typing skills as well as maintain a sense of responsibility. Previous front desk/receptionist experience in a medical office required.
