Neck Lift

A neck lift is a cosmetic plastic surgery that can help reduce the noticeable signs of age on the neck. The procedure begins with the surgeon making small incisions behind both of the ears and a small incision beneath the chin. Next, any excess or loose skin is pulled tight to the deep recesses of the neck, resulting in smoother and tighter skin around the neck. The tightened skin drastically reduces the appearance of wrinkles, jowl lines, or a fatty neck.

In order to be eligible for a neck lift, a patient must have a clean medical history with no medical conditions that could possibly hinder the healing process. Patients must also be nonsmokers and have realistic expectations for the capabilities of a neck lift procedure. To make sure the patient’s expectations are realistic, Dr. Cabin will have a detailed consultation in which he will answer any questions.

The neck lift recovery process requires some patience, as a patient will not be able to return to work for up to two weeks following the surgery. Patients should also refrain from sports or physical activity for three or more weeks, allowing the neck and skin to fully heal. During this time, the patient may have some swelling and bruising around the neck and incision points, and there may be a feeling of tightness, tingling, and pulling. All swelling, bruising, and discomfort should subside after a few weeks.
